The time is set aside exclusively for you.  If you are unable to attend we ask you to give reasonable notice since there is often a waiting list for clients requesting earlier appointment.  Where less than twenty four hours notice is given a cancellation fee may be charged.

All information discussed in sessions is totally confidential.  Your permission would be essential if your require the psychologist to discuss any matter with a family member or your doctor.

Private health insurance may provide a rebate for psychological services.   You may now refer to your doctor under a Mental Health Careplan whereby a rebate from Medicare is $76.00 per session for six sessions.  A maximum of twelve sessions in one year is permitted under this scheme.

Medications?

For many people cognitive behavioural therapy and other forms of counseling is sufficient to sort out problems. However there are times when a combination of medication and counseling will be of assistance.  This should be discussed with your general practitioner.
